Nailed it! Well Sort of

Last week was our first to hit all of our miles on the new plan. Thirty eight to be exact. This is a decent accomplishment, but it should be the norm. Let’s talk about it.

To put this in context, we have been training for five weeks. We started on a training plan for 2 weeks (to get back into shape) and then moved to a longer miles plan.

Our first week on the new plan was successful, but we shortened the total mileage to account for the two different plans. The second week was terrible, we missed three days, but we salvaged it with a  respectable  long run to keep miles up.

We decided to repeat week 2.

Week 2 (version 2.0), we maintained all of planned miles. Tux was frustrated with training times, but we stayed focus and are now at a good point in our progressions.

Although we feel great and our legs are starting to adapt to training, we are still adamant about achieving all of our set objectives. In contrast with the mileage, we still struggle individually with beating the alarm clock, especially with the arrival  of rain and unusually cool weather.

We’re confident that keeping up with our training will provide more and more structure. Soon we’ll be able to say we’re fully succeeding each week.

Clear trails & happy running
